(Proverbs 3:9-10 NIV) Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

(2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT) You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

√ The TITHE is a test.
(Deuteronomy 8:2 NLT) … humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.
(1 Chronicles 29:17 NIV) (King David Prayer) . . . my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things I have given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.

√ It is ALL GOD’S anyway.
(Psalm 24:1 NLT) The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.
(Psalm 50:9-12 NLT) But I do not need the bulls from your barns or the goats from your pens. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird on the mountains, and all the animals of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for all the world is mine and everything in it.

√ God gave us HIS FIRST & BEST.
(Mark 12:41-44 MSG) ‘Sitting across from the offering box, he was observing how the crowd tossed money in for the collection. Many of the rich were making large contributions. One poor widow came up and put in two small coins—a measly two cents. Jesus called his disciples over and said, “The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her all.”
(Genesis 4:3-5 NLT) When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the LORD. Abel also brought a gift–the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The LORD accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. . . .
(1 John 4:9 NLT) God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

√ The tithe BLESSES THE REST.
(Malachi 3:10-11 NIV) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty.

√ I tithe because it is MY HONOR.
(Exodus 13:11-16 MSG) “When God brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he promised you and your fathers, and turns it over to you, you are to set aside the first birth out of every womb to God . Every first birth from your livestock belongs to God . You can redeem every first birth of a donkey if you want to by substituting a lamb; if you decide not to redeem it, you must break its neck. “Redeem every firstborn child among your sons. When the time comes and your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you tell him, ‘ God brought us out of Egypt, out of a house of slavery, with a powerful hand. . . . That’s why I make a sacrifice .. . God brought us out of Egypt with a powerful hand.”’
